Introduction

The thickener is a thickening equipment designed according to the principle that the specific gravity of the material in the liquid is different and the settling speed is also different. It is generally welded from sheet metal. The design purpose of the thickener is to increase the concentration and density of the slurry and remove the useless clarified liquid. Thickeners are used in hydrometallurgical plants and are mainly used for processes that require liquid-solid separation, such as leachate concentration and wastewater treatment.

Features

As the flocs precipitated after the mixing of the pulp and the medicament more and more, an ideal dense layer is formed at the bottom of the deep cone thickener. On the upper part of the dense layer, thick flocs that are not stable enough are deposited. They are essentially a floating filter medium. They are very effective in intercepting small particles. The sediment at the bottom of the dense layer, under the combined action of a larger water head and material gravity, makes the underflow of the deep cone thickener obtain greater pressure, which greatly increases the concentration of the discharged material.
